What this software actually does

AutoScope accepts JPG, PNG and WebP artwork and generates embroidery stitch paths automatically. Choose a physical design size, palette and fill settings, then review the stitch sequence. You can inspect thread layers and make supported layer edits in the studio. Exports include PES v6, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3, XXX and PEC. The complete bundle also supplies a thread worksheet and an editable Threadwork project. Check the format and size limits of your exact embroidery machine.

Automatic digitizing versus manual design tools

Automatic digitizing interprets existing image shapes. It is useful for exploring a simple logo or illustration without drawing every embroidery object yourself. It does not replace every feature of a full manual digitizing package, and it does not include a human digitizer rebuilding the design. Tiny commercial lettering, specialist stitches and precise production requirements may need manual digitizing. The preview lets you assess a starting point; a test sew determines whether it is suitable for your fabric.

Choose artwork that gives the engine room to work

Use distinct shapes, clean edges and a limited palette for a first project. A transparent PNG can avoid a solid background becoming a stitched area. Busy photos, gradients, narrow lines and small text are harder to translate into physical thread. Photo mode is supported, but the result is an interpretation rather than a promise of photographic detail. Simplify the source or increase the sewing size when important shapes merge or disappear.

A browser workflow for Mac and Windows

Open the online studio in a current browser rather than installing a desktop application. The free stitch preview processes your artwork in the browser. Paid export preparation uses the service backend and requires an account with export access. Large, complex artwork can take longer to process. This browser product is separate from a native Mac or Windows installer; check the privacy documentation for details about account and saved-design handling.

What is free and what requires a plan?

Uploading and generating previews are free and do not require sign-up. Exporting machine files requires a paid plan, with the current prices and monthly allowances listed on the pricing page. AutoScope is therefore not a fully free embroidery-file download tool. Review the free preview first, then choose a plan only if the workflow meets your needs. No subscription can guarantee that every source image will produce suitable embroidery.

From preview to fabric

Set the intended sewing size, inspect the color order and jumps, and export the format your machine supports. Select physical thread colors using the worksheet; some formats use a fixed palette or omit custom RGB colors. Open the file with your normal machine workflow and test-sew with the intended stabilizer, fabric, needle and thread. Adjust the design if the sample reveals puckering, gaps or excessive density.
